WDW with Food Allergies FAQ

Updated: Oct 19

Disney is very conscientious that there are guests coming with a range of dietary restrictions. From gluten sensitivity to peanut allergies, shellfish allergies to soy allergies and more, almost all Disney restaurants are able to accommodate most common and some uncommon allergy friendly requests without advanced warning.

If you have any uncertainty or specific questions about what can be accommodated we recommend reaching out to Disney directly at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. If you are at the parks, dining locations have special diets-trained Cast Members you can talk to.

What are common allergy friendly requests Disney restaurants can accommodate without advanced warning?

Most table-service and select quick-service restaurants can accommodate the following common allergy-friendly requests and intolerances without any advance notice:

  • Eggs

  • Fish

  • Milk

  • Peanuts

  • Sesame

  • Shellfish

  • Soy

  • Tree nuts

  • Wheat

What are the less common allergy friendly or intolerance requests Disney can accommodate?

Walt Disney World table-service and quick-service restaurants will do their best to accommodate you if you need meals made without a food or ingredient that is not one of the allergies the Food and Drug Administration considers most common. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Made without gluten

  • Made without lactose

  • Made without corn

  • Made without citrus

  • Made without nightshades

  • Made without MSG

When might you need to reach out to Disney directly about dietary accommodations?

If you or anyone in your party has either 4 or more allergy-friendly requests, requires pureed meals, or adheres to a medically-restrictive diet (such as very low protein), contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com in advance to ask for a Special Dietary Request Form.

You will then receive guidance on navigating the dining process and they will give advance notice to restaurants you intend to visit.

Disney suggests not reaching out more than two weeks in advance of your travel dates.

Which Disney restaurants offer allergy friendly accommodations?

Most Table Service restaurants and larger quick service locations have allergy friendly options listed on their online menus, based on common food allergens. Most other allergy friendly requests can be accommodated upon request.

Most of the smaller dining locations or kiosks cannot accommodate allergy friendly requests. They may be able to provide you with a list of ingredients for your review, but this is not always possible.

What about if I want to order via Mobile Order?

Many quick service locations offer Mobile Order where you can order your meal via the app and skip waiting in line when it is time to dine. This is a great way to save some dining time while in the parks. Most of the restaurants that have standard allergy friendly options will have these available through the Mobile Order menu as well. Unfortunately special requests are hard to make in the app, so we recommend you consult a special diets-trained Cast Member at dining locations if it is a concern. Also, Disney recommends that guests with more than one dietary restriction should skip using Mobile Ordering and instead order at the location for safety.

How can I check what allergy friendly meals are available at restaurants before I visit?

Disney has menus posted for each of its restaurants on the website. Menus can be found on each individual restaurant’s link on the Disney Dining Page here. (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/) If you open a menu page, and scroll down past the regular menu, you can find what allergy friendly options the selected restaurant offers, with notations for which meals are friendly for specific allergy types.

There are microwaves in the food court, or quick service locations at the hotels. In the parks the are Baby Care Centers that have a microwave available for reheating food.
