Using Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass with Disability Access Service

Updated: 17 hours ago

If I have been approved for Disability Access Service, but my party is larger than four total (DAS recipient plus three others), can I purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass so that my entire party can ride together?

Yes, if your party is too large for everyone to be included with DAS and you were unable to get an exception from Disney, one strategy to consider is purchasing LLMP for some of your party.

Would I need to buy LLMP for everyone in my party?

If the goal is for your entire party to just ride all of the attractions together, then no.  With DAS, three guests can ride with the DAS recipient. You will need to select three people in your party to always be the ones included with the DAS recipient in those selections. Make sure those three people are linked to the DAS recipient in your MDE app. While you can have more than three people linked, only three at time can ride with the DAS recipient. You will not need to purchase LLMP for the DAS recipient or those three selected guests.  Purchase LLMP for any party members beyond those three and the DAS recipient.

How do I use LLMP and DAS to schedule rides at the same time?

Lighting Lane Multi Passes will have to be the tool that guides your party’s day.  See our FAQ on purchasing LLMP here.  With LLMP you will have the ability to schedule up to three selections before you arrive, and will be able to make an additional selection as soon as you use the first one (you can always hold three at a time). With DAS you can only hold one scheduled return at a time. However, with LLMP you have a hard 1 hour window to return before the selection expires. With DAS you can return anytime following your scheduled return, however you cannot make another selection until after you ride that attraction. This means balancing LLMP and DAS, while possible, will require some forethought and patience the day of.

First, once you have your three initial selections you will need to try to schedule your DAS selections so the return time is as close as possible to your LLMP selections windows. For your LLMP, we suggest not necessarily booking your first three selections back to back, rather allow for some time in between. How much time will depend on your selections. Remember with DAS you will make a selection, and the return time will be set at the existing wait time minus 10 minutes. So if you are planning rides like “it’s a small world” or Journey into Imagination with Figment you likely won’t run into many timing issues. However, if you are planning Peter Pan’s Flight or Avatar Flight of Passage, where the wait time often exceeds an hour, if your LLMP ride selections are back-to-back your DAS selection time may not line up with your LLMP 1 hour window.

Second, when making additional LLMP selections in the park, you’ll need to keep track of the existing wait time for attractions to know if it is possible to get a DAS comeback time to align correctly. The ebb and flow of crowds will vary day to day, so while it is possible you scored a LLMP for Frozen Ever After that has an immediate return window, the wait-time might be long enough that your DAS return time will be after that 1 hour window. Another scenario is wanting to ride Jungle Cruise, you have a LLMP for 2:00 - 3:00 pm, you would need to pay attention to the wait time for this attraction probably starting around 1:00pm to make sure that you get a DAS return time in that 2:00 - 3:00 pm window.

If you have been approved for DAS do I need to also use LLMP?

No.  However if being able to schedule multiple experiences at a time and having your day more concretely mapped out from the beginning help you to feel more in control then using LLMP on top of DAS can be very helpful. You will be able to pre select three of the attractions and know the times of those rides in order to better plan and coordinate your day.  We have done this in the past, using Genie + in tandem with DAS.

What about using Lightning Lane Single Pass?

For attractions that do not have a Virtual Queue, the process will be the same as LLMP, coordinating your DAS return time with when you have the LLSP scheduled.

What about attractions that have Virtual Queues?

For attractions with a Virtual Queue it will be nearly impossible to coordinate your DAS and LLSP. First, the members on the DAS cannot just schedule a return time for these attractions, they will have to snag a Virtual Queue group. Then, even if they do snag a group you cannot predict what group number they will have or when their return time will be. Trying to match this uncertainty with a scheduled 1 hour return window booked days in advance is not advisable. If these attractions are important to you we suggest purchasing a LLSP for everyone in the party.

The exception to this will be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is currently available as a LLMP selection and a Virtual Queue. It is likely that without every member having LLMP you will not be able to coordinate everyone riding this attraction at the same time.
