Rider Swapping FAQ
Updated: Jul 24
What is rider swap?
It’s just that, the adults in your family taking turns to ride with only having to stand in line - physically or virtually - once.
How does rider swap work?
When you arrive at the attraction where you wish to make use of rider swap, find a cast member and let them know.
They will issue one of the adults in your party and the child who is not riding an entitlement and let them know where the designated waiting area is located.
The rest of your party will then either join the stand by line - or enter the lightning lane line if you have a Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation, Single Pass reservation, or a Virtual Queue.
After they experience the attraction, the non-riding child will then swap adults and the other adult - plus one additional party member - will then be able to ride the attraction without having to wait in line again, usually through the lightning lane entrance.
If I have an older kid, can they ride the attraction with both adults?
As long as there is only one kid, then yes they will be able to ride the attraction twice. Disney will allow one additional party member to accompany the second adult onto the attraction. If you have multiple older kids who want to ride then technically one of them could re-ride, but not both.
