PhotoPass and Memory Maker FAQ

Updated: Jul 24

What is PhotoPass Service?

Photopass is Disney’s name for the professional photographers found throughout the WDW parks and resorts. The guest will have their ticket or magic band scanned by the photopass photographer, then they will take various shots of the guest and their party. The photos are then uploaded to Disney’s PhotoPass site online. Using this service itself is free, the pictures will have a watermark across them, however, until purchased.

Where can I find PhotoPass photographs?

PhotoPass photographers are found at all iconic locations, plus various other spots throughout the parks. They can be easily spotted by their bright green shirts. Their locations do change throughout the day. You can find them in your My Disney Experience (MDE) app, go to the interactive map, click the down arrow and select PhotoPass. This will bring up current PhotoPass locations.

The PhotoPass photographer does not go from table to table, instead there is a staged photo with one particular character, usually taken before you are seated.

How do I access my PhotoPass photos?

You can access them two ways. Either by signing into your MDE app on your phone and clicking on the lines on the bottom right corner. Photos is one of the options on that screen. Make sure to not choose PhotoPass Lenses. This is a separate option to enhance your own photos making photos on your own phone be like their own magical shots, and will not give you access to your PhotoPass pictures. Is Memory Maker worth it?

Our family thinks so. You can get multiple photos of your entire family at iconic locations taken by professional photographers. All of your fun ride photos, and those magic shots you can’t get anywhere else. If you are someone who wants to document your vacation on social media, Memory Maker makes it that much easier. And if someone in your family scrapbooks - either with paper or digitally, they are an excellent resource.

On the other hand, you have to consciously take advantage of the PhotoPass locations. It does take time to stand in line for them, and if you skip over them you will not get your money's worth.

Disney’s PhotoPass Studios is a photo studio located in Disney Springs. No reservations are necessary, just pop in for a free photo session. All photos are included in your Memory Maker purchase.
