Magic Kingdom's New Villains Land

Updated: 4 days ago

***Updated 11-10-2024

In August at D23 Josh D'Amaro revealed one of the most exciting projects happening over the next five years was the all-new Villains Land located "Beyond Big Thunder" in the Magic Kingdom. Here are all the details we know so far. Villains Land at Magic Kingdom will be home to two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale.

"In our story, a mysterious spell has been cast, summoning villains from every realm," D'Amaro said. "In this land, heroes don't come to save the day — and there may not be a happily ever after!"

"This land will be home to the villains that you know and those that you loathe, which means happily-ever-after might feel like a distant dream," D'Amaro said at the time, revealing that the addition will be on "an incredibly twisted grand scale" unlike anything that Disney has done in the past at its parks.

The following 13 Villains from Disney animated movies are the inspirations for the new land:

  • Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)

  • Jafar (Aladin)

  • Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

  • Lady Tremaine (Cinderella)

  • Yzmav (Emperor's New Groove)

  • Cruella deVil (101 Dalmations)

  • Captain Hook (Peter Pan)

  • Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)

  • Maleficent's Dragon form (Sleeping Beauty)

  • Mother Gothel (Rapunzel)

  • Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

  • Hades (Hercules)

  • Chernabog (Fantasia)

As of now we do not have an opening date or even a time-line beyond sometime in the next five years. We will update when more details are released.
