Tips for meeting the characters:
Character meet and greets tend to be very popular. For characters that have set meeting times, we recommend getting in line to meet them at least 15 minutes before they are scheduled to appear. Since these characters are only out for a set period of time, the line gets cut off once a specified number of guests has been reached.
Many meet and greets have photopass photographers on hand to capture the moment. We are big proponents of getting memory maker (more on that here) but if you don’t have it you can also ask the photographer to take a photo with your camera.
We recommend becoming familiar with your My Disney Experience (MDE) App, where you will be able to find available characters and times, under Characters, for when you are in the park.
Almost all the characters who do actual meet and greets are happy to sign their autograph, which can be a fun souvenir and memento from your trip. You can buy autograph books around the park, make your own, or get creative and have characters sign an object. We’ve seen people carry around the matte from a photo frame, and then they can frame their Disney photo with the autographs, or a jacket that they ask characters to sign the back of. If you do a little thinking outside the box you can have a unique and fun souvenir to bring home.
Types of character experiences:
Main Characters
Anna & Elsa - In the Norway Pavilion you will find the Royal Sommerhus on the left side of the area, it’s a red wooden building standing alone. Here you can meet Anna and Elsa in succession. Anna and Elsa are available to meet guests shortly after the park opens until early in the evening. There is only the standby line to meet them, and it normally moves at a reasonable pace.
Figment - If you are looking for that one little spark of inspiration head over to the ImageWorks in World Celebration for the brand new Figment meet and greet which debuted September 10, 2023. Currently Figment greets visitors from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM. Lines have been incredibly long for this new character experience, so if meeting the beloved purple dragon is high on your must-do list consider rope dropping it.
Meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Goofy at the Mickey & Friends location at the new CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration. Swing by to get a photo, a hug—and maybe even an autograph—from Mickey Mouse and some of his best buds. This is often one of the least crowded lines to meet Mickey Mouse on property.
Intermittent Characters
Moana - Drop by and see Moana where she is greeting guests over near her new attraction Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana!
Joy - Experience joy while meeting Joy from Inside Out over in ImageWorks in the Imagination Pavilion. She meets guests periodically throughout the day so check your My Disney Experience App for when to expect her.
Minnie Mouse - Minnie Mouse also meets guests near the Epcot Entrance, to the right as you are facing the Epcot ball. Check your MDE app when you are there for when to find her.
Goofy - Goofy greets guests in the Epcot entrance plaza, to the right as you are facing the Epcot ball.
Asha - Disney’s newest princess, Asha, is meeting guests at the Gazebo in World Showcase Plaza. You can find her to the left of the walkway as you are heading toward the Mexico Pavilion.
Daisy Duck - Between the United Kingdom Pavilion and the France Pavilion in the World Showcase is the International Gateway. At specific times throughout the day Daisy Duck can be found here greeting her adoring fans.
Donald Duck - Just past the pyramid in the Mexico Pavilion you can find the area where Donald Duck meets guests. Here he is decked out, as one of the three caballeros, in a poncho and sombrero.
Winnie the Pooh - This cuddly bear is meeting friends in Christopher Robin’s room. You can find the entrance at the back of the UK Pavilion.
Alice - You won’t have to fall down a rabbit hole to find Alice at Walt Disney World. Rather make your way to the UK Pavilion garden where she meets guests near the Tea Caddy shop.
Mary Poppins - Sometimes found in the UK pavilion, She only comes out when the parks are very busy, and can not be found on the MDE app.
Aurora - You can meet Aurora once upon a dream, or over in the France Pavilion in the Fragrance Gardens Gazebo. The Gazebo can be found to the right of the pavilion (facing inward) along the walk back to the new Remy area.
Belle - Pop over to say Bonjour to Belle in the France Pavilion. She can be found along the water’s edge across from Chefs de France.
Jasmine - If you wind your way toward the back of the Morocco Pavilion you can find Jasmine’s meet and greet area: the Lamps of Wonder.
Mulan - Inside the Great Hall of China is where you can meet and greet with Mulan in her pink and blue dress.
Snow White - To the left of the Germany Pavilion (when facing it) you will find a wishing well. This is where Snow White meets with guests.
Character Dining
Garden Grill - The Land Pavilion is packed full of exciting things to do and see, this includes a great character dining experience where Chip, Dale, and Mickey greet guests as they dine on yummy comfort food. The food here is served family style and is all you can eat, and it’s one of the lowest priced character meals so it’s great bang for your buck. Also, if you can snag an early breakfast reservation you can get into the park before opening and, if you time eating right, be one of the first people to ride Soarin’. Advanced dining reservations are highly encouraged. Click here for a downloadable guide to character dinning across Walt Disney World.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Norway Pavilion- If you can’t get, or don’t want to pay for, dining in Cinderella’s Royal Table, this is a great alternative for dining with princesses. Exactly which princesses you’ll get to see does vary; you can generally expect to see Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Snow White, and Tiana. The food is served family style and some people do find the offerings at lunch & dinner to be a bit too eclectic so if you have a picky eater breakfast may be the way to go. Advanced dining reservations are a must for this restaurant as it is very popular.
