Animal Kingdom Dining

Updated: Mar 3

Animal Kingdom has a lot of different dining options, from yummy iconic snacks, to hearty quick service locations, and some fabulously themed (with equally fabulous food) table service restaurants. Read more about dining at Walt Disney World here.

When thinking about where to eat at the Animal Kingdom you need to first consider the different kinds of dinning options. There are elaborate prix fixe meals, yummy quick service and snack locations. Then you need to consider your family needs and budget. We've broken down quick service, table service, character meals, and snacks.

A list of the different dining locations, types, and menus can be found at the Walt Disney World website. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, click here to read our overview.

Here are our favorite dining locations at the Animal Kingdom broken down by caragory.

Quick Service

Satu’li Canteen - Located in Pandora, this place offers a unique fare that if you can get picky eaters past the look of, tastes great. There are a number of customizable bowls and steamed pods to choose from.

Flame Tree Barbecue - Sitting on Discovery Island, Flame Tree Barbecue offers just that, barbecue. It’s a good solid place to grab a bite to eat.

Table Service

Yak & Yeti Restaurant - If you are looking for on point food and stellar service we always recommend Yak & Yeti Restaurant over in Asia. Another favorite of ours, the asian menu has a wide variety of options for the adventurous and not so adventurous alike.

Tiffins Restaurant - Tiffins offers a more sophisticated atmosphere and some absolutely amazing food and stellar service. As the signature dining location in Animal Kingdom, this is a splurge place for us so we don’t go often, but every time we do it never disappoints.

Character Meals

Tusker House Restaurant - Buffet-style safari dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy. Donald Duck's Safari breakfast is run-of-the-mill Disney breakfast offerings, this meal is great for picky eaters and we definitely recommend doing breakfast instead of lunch or dinner if you are a family without a lot of flexibility when it comes to food. Lunch and dinner are cut meats, stews, veggies, and salads with an African flare. There are kids sections with a more typical child friendly food. The character interactions here have been great, so it’s worth the visit. The cost is for Breakfast is $45 per adult, $29 per child (ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity; Lunch/Dinner are $59 per adult, $38 per child (ages 3-9) plus tax and gratuity

Snacks

Creature Comforts - This is the Starbucks location in AK, and if you are a Starbucks fan this is probably the easiest place to get Starbucks on property, the line is often not too bad and even when it’s long they seem to go quicker then other Starbucks locations on property. Aside from the caffeinated (or not) beverages, this is one of the locations where you can get a Mickey Colossal Cinnamon Roll, which is delightful.

Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery - If you aren’t up for the wait at Creature Comforts, however fast it may be, or are just in Africa looking for something snackable, there are some good sweet and savory options at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. This is the other location where you can find the Mickey Colossal Cinnamon Roll, but they have plenty of other great options.
