Advance Dining Reservations (ADR) FAQ
Updated: Jul 24
What is an ADR?
ADRs are Advance Dining Reservations to Walt Disney World Resort Table Service restaurants.
Who can make an ADR?
Anyone can make an ADR, you do not need to be a resort guest or even have park tickets to make one. You do need to have valid park admission and a park reservation when dining in a theme park. If you are using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner they will be able to make ADRs for you.
When can I make an ADR?
ADR can be made up 60 days in advance starting at 6AM Eastern online (sometimes as early at 5:45 AM so it’s worth starting to reload the site starting then) or 7AM Eastern by phone. If you are a WDW resort guest you can make them 60 days from check in for the entire length of stay, up to 10 days.
How do I make an ADR?
You can make a ADR by either calling (407) WDW-DINE (407-939-3463), online here, or in the MDE app.
Where do I make a reservation in the MDE app?
In the app select the plus, at the bottom in the center, and then select Check Dining Availability. From there you can select your party size, the desired date and time and then see all the restaurants that have availability. You can filter by selecting the filter button in the bottom right corner.
Do ADRs require a deposit?
No, ADRs for table service restaurants do not require a deposit, but you must hold the reservation with a credit card. If you do not cancel 2 hours before your reservation and are a no show, your credit card will be charged a $10 per person penalty fee.
Some special dining experiences such as Cinderella’s Royal Table and Victoria and Alberts must be prepaid at the time of booking. If you are a no show for these you will be charged the full amount.
What do I do if I need to cancel an ADR?
ADRs can be canceled online, in the app, by calling (407) WDW-DINE (407-939-3463), or at guest relations in the park.
What happens if I need to change my ADR?
ADRs can be changed online and in the app or by calling (407) WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Online you can select your reservation and there will be an option to change your ADR. Nothing will be changed until you confirm the change at a later step.
What happens if I can not get the ADR I want?
Our best advice is to keep trying. We’ve managed to snag hard to get reservations even all the way up to the day before our trip by just being consistent and checking every day.
What happens if I am late for my ADR?
They will typically give you a 15 minute grace window. If something unexpected happens like you are stuck on a ride be sure to tell them at check-in. They will usually work with you.
What happens if my ADR is for a time before the park opens?
There will be a Cast Member holding a sign for Dining Reservations, usually to the left side of the entrance inside the turnstyle - or if in the Magic Kingdom on the left side of the area in the front of the Castle. The Cast Member will confirm your reservation from a list and then let you in.
If I have an ADR after the parks close will I be able to use Disney Transportation to get back to my WDW resort hotel?
Buses typically run until 1 hour after theme park closing. However, if you have a late in park dining reservation and end up staying in the park beyond the 1 hour time frame you can usually still get a bus back to your resort. If you are concerned you can find a Cast Member to help you.
Can I use Opentable to make a reservation at WDW Resort Restaurants?
Many of the restaurants at Disney Spings also accept bookings through Opentable, so be sure to check there if you are unable to get an ADR. Sometimes you will get lucky.
If I do not have an ADR can I just walk up?
You can certainly ask. It is unlikely you will be able to get a table at an in-park table service restaurant, but sometimes Disney Springs or WDW resort hotel restaurants have availability for a walk-up. Yak Yeti and Rain Forest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom as well as T-Rex and Rain Forest Cafe at Disney Springs are Landry’s restaurants, and if you have a Landry’s Select Club Card you will receive priority seating for walk up if you have a group of six or less.
How does ADR work with Cinderella's Royal Table?
For Cinderella's Royal Table you must prepay for the meal when booking your ADR. The cost for breakfast is $69 plus tax for those 10 and up and $42 plus tax for ages 3 through 9. Lunch and dinner run $84 plus tax for those 10 and up and $49 plus tax for ages 3 though 9. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan at CRT the money will be refunded to the credit card you used to prepay once the 2 dining credits per member of your party are deducted.
