Disney with Neurodiversity:
Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, ADHD, and more
We have been a Disney family for a long time, but when we started to visit our youngest child who is on the autism spectrum we had to adjust and rethink how we both planed and managed our trips. Over the years we have learned a lot about how to navigate a Disney vacation with neurodiverse family members, and wanted to share our experiences with others.
We love to travel, yet traveling with someone who is not neurotypical can be daunting. Whether on the autism spectrum, anxiety or attention deficit, be it an adult or child, you or a family member trying to manage things outside of the expected and controlled can feel insurmountable and undoable. We have not only an ASD child, but other neurospicy members in our family. Over time we have learned how to successfully manage travel in a way that is enjoyable for everyone.
